Social Services
There is a broad range of services available to parishioners in need. Sr. Irene coordinates volunteers in the following areas: driver/companion for doctor trips, shopping, etc. and drivers, deliverers, kitchen workers or bakers for the West View Meals-on-Wheels. There are home visits to parishioners, and visits to parishioners in Nursing Homes. Extraordinary Ministers visit parishioners in hospitals and assist with the distribution of Holy Communion at Perrytown Place (monthly) and HRC Manor Care (weekly). We facilitate the Diocesan “Emmaus Journey” (7-week bereavement program) in the Fall and Spring. At the end of October we assist with the anti-pornography White Ribbon Campaign. We assist with the annual “Afternoon of Reflection for the Bereaved, and Grieving Through the Holidays” in November. We assist in the Canteen for the twice yearly Blood Drive (June and December); coordinate the Ministry of Praise (homebound/elderly to pray for the Parish).
